Looking forward to hearing from the master himself. I can fill in the blanks of "Carefree" I was there. My Captain and I safely brought her home and I know where she is today. I have thr real Jim & Penny Fletcher story. Murder in the Grenadines.

Author David Foster Wallace committed suicide... jumped ship... let us down... turned his back on us... neglected us... used us... told us we were not worth it... I suppose it was all about him all along.
I can say this:
I'm insulted. It's all about us, not me and not you and certainly not about him, but us.
Don't tell me how great he was. He was not.
He is an example of a wasted dust... a waste of perfectly good dust. Poof!
What is grief? What is sympathy? There's none here. Poof.
On the other hand... While I'm on the subject... Great things happen also. Life is wonderful. Love is perpetual. All is not ruined by one fool's twisted greed. No. Small random acts of courage go unnoticed... Large displays of love and surrender abound. Fresh common sense takes hold and grows. What did think suicide would do for him? Set him free? Hardly. It's quite the opposite... eternal damnation. Yes. Eternal damnation.
